Did you know?
Vader May Day, also use to have a May Day Queen and Court. Originally girls who ran for queen, sold pieces of candy for a penny, and whoever sold the most would be crowned May Day Queen. Eventually, candidates running for may day court switched from candy to selling colored ribbons and then buttons. One year we even had a King!
While there currently isn't a May Day Court, buttons are still made and sold as a fundraiser to help pay for the costs of the festivities. Maybe one day, with the help of more volunteers, we can bring back the May Day court!
